+this took five hours to carve, from 10 to 1pm and two more hours after lunch... my back is killing me. it's a good thing i stopped before carving out the words, because i almost did it like they were written... and they would have shown backwards in the print and that would have been the end of it. those are the two tools i used: the v-knife for picking out the background and doing some linework on the figures, and x-acto blades on that chunky handle for all the fine cutting (like the camera details). and it was insane work, and i'm glad it's done.+

you're crazy i say. But i know how that can be, says the amateur. When i start printing/carving/painting i need to finish. Words can be a real bitch.

AI'm so glad you showed this piece in block from with the carving tools on the black backround (empty scanner, paper, whatever). I love what you do, but it's nice to see something of yours that is a little messy.

+amateur is a nasty word. what does it make me? mature? maturity is close to rotting away on the grass, said a teacher of mine. words are real bitches in any context.
messy... i know. people make fun of me when i print, i look like a damn surgeon. you get the picture.+
