+lithography...image transfered to stone and hand-manipulated. the full title is "relación de los milagros de san senefelder" (story of st. senefelder's miracles). btw, senefelder was the creator of the litographic process, and there is a shop joke involved...not worth telling...+
+picked out a photo of a scientist that was apparently abducted... the setting looked like a printmaker's studio somewhat, and his expression was interesting. i enlarged it a bit on a xerox machine and then rubbed it onto a prepared stone with thinner. this gave me a faded, uneven image. this i penciled over, fixed up the face and worked over the base image at will. added the old-fashioned halo and the arrows and letters, with the aid of an x-acto knife to scratch out precise edges and white areas. the toner will pick up ink as well as the grease pencil markings... wait. do you have any idea how lithography is done? look at this if you don't: [link]
